Following the Clubs AGM held on Monday 18th March 2013, a number of points were raised by the members for discussion at the next Committee meeting.
The points were discussed at the meeting held on Monday 8th April 2013 with the following results:-
Drawn events - It was decided that the request for more "drawn" events would be considered again at the next meeting. The committee felt that they would like to see the response from the members during the Roberts Cup which is a drawn event and which is to be held shortly. Past history has shown that drawn events are not very popular with the membership as a whole.
Tee time allocations taken up by past Captains - It was felt that this was not such an issue during the summer months as more early tee times were available. In fact there had been many changes already this year to the start sheets where members had changed their early tee times to later ones because they did not want to tee off so early. However, it was agreed that it was more of a problem during the winter months and various options were to be looked at. These included, restrictions to past Captains choices and perhaps a two tee start making more tee allocations available.
Roll up handicap qualifiers - it was unanimously agreed that roll up handicap qualifiers would remain as they are. This means that, if the Sunday competition was a handicap qualifier then the Saturday roll up would not be. Vice versa, if the Sunday competition was not a handicap qualifier then the Saturday roll up would be. Summarising, this would mean there would only be a maximum of one handicap qualifier per weekend.
