Round 4 - Tigger Tour at Foxbridge - 19th August 2008.
A
very long course for the U'9 and over age groups, with
the 7th and 8th holes both being par 5' s, made more
difficult by the very high winds and lots of water.
Well
done to Joe and Connor both of whom also overcame the
additional handicap of being moved back to the yellow
tees, as they had won in previous tournaments.
Penny's 65 in the U'10 girls saw her finish just a
couple of shots behind the winner, but she did win the
all age group putting competition.
Rae
won the under boys 7's with a superb 42, and William who
is improving with each round, showed great
determination but was disappointed with his 59.
In
the U'9 boys Milo who also continues to improve as he
plays over the longer courses recorded an excellent 70 .
Connor won the U11's with
his exceptional 46.
Joe won the U12's with an excellent 53 in the very
difficult conditions.
The
final round is this at Tuesday at Brighton and Hove and
all of our youngsters are playing.
Finally, we all must congratulate Joe Setten and Tom
Haynes on their selection to represent Sussex County
U'14's against the U'16's at West Chiltington on 28th
August.
The 5th and final round of the
Sussex County Tigger Tour took place at Brighton and
Hove Golf Club on Tuesday 26th August.
On
yet another cold and windy summer day on probably the
most difficult of the courses this year, our young
juniors once again played well, some recording 'personal
bests'.
In
the Boys U'7's William who has improved in every round
recorded his best score of the competition off the cones
with a 55.
In
the Boys U'9's Milo, who has learned a lot from this
years Tour also had a 55
In
the Girls U'11's competition, Penny (U'10') also
recorded another good score of 61and is now close to
getting her 'club' golf handicap
Connor Dixon once again played superbly off the red tees
for an excellent 45 to win the boy U'11's.
Joe
was once again victorious in the U'12's with his 49,
with Tom (who had just returned from holiday) and Henry
(in only his second comp) having 61 and 63 respectively.
The
Tour Championship trophies were also awarded and Hill
Barn won 3 of the 8 age groups
Penny Brown (3 tournament wins) and overall winner of
the girls U'10's
Connor Dixon (the maximum of 5 tournament wins) and
overall winner of the boys U'11's
Joe
Setten (4 tournament wins) and overall winner of the
Boys U'12's
